Our courses and retreats are designed to immerse the participants in nature and the local community while simultaneously unpacking the layers of the spiritual and cultural landscape around them.

These experiences are meant to allow participants to step back, reflect, unlearn and reimagine in order to recognize the importance of ancient tribal traditions and understand the complicated socio-political realities around us.

From the academic to the spiritual, each retreat is firmly rooted in the ground realities of the ecosystems where it is hosted.

RETREATS AND COURSES

When approached with groups that align with our values, we can design retreats based on the needs of the participants. In the past, we have designed retreats for:

Eco-Mysticism: spirituality, self-knowledge, and nature

Families with an emphasis on inter-generational bonding

Youth Immersion Camps for participants under 18 years of age

Leadership Trainings (especially for participants at Bachelors and Masters levels of education)

Advanced Educational Programs

Since early 2000s, we have hosted over 200 programs for children, teenagers, and young adults, including students at all levels of education (Bachelors, Masters and Ph.D.), professionals and families. Here are just a few organizations that have invited us to provide courses, lead daylong activities and/or multi-day residential retreats for students and other groups in the past few years:

Aravallis

We lead multi-day immersive retreats in Southern Aravallis to help participants understand the rich traditions of the tribal communities in Rajasthan. Through extensive hiking and bicycle riding across the landscape, participants become intimate with the struggle of tribes to survive as their ecological foundations are torn apart. We also discuss ways to revive and restore the ecosystems and their indigenous populations.

Himalayas

The Himalayas provide a dramatic landscape that has dictated the cultures of indigenous tribes for millenia and they teach us how can we bring back balance to our lives. We host retreats at multiple venues in the Himalyan belt in the states of Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand. With guidance and permission of the local tribes, our programs always build in interactions with the local communities.

Testimonials

“The Aravalli exploration [immersion] was an amazing adventure and wonderful educational experience for me.  I have passed many of the regions where we hiked on field visits in the past and though I have looked at the amazing scenery and appreciated its natural beauty, I have never really understood the history and current conflicts there until this trip.  It’s amazing what a new perspective can show you.  The meditative walk was very intense and outside my expectations, I felt as though the entire forest was alive.  It was incredible.”
